CF Condensate Return/Boiler Feedwater Systems

Manage Condensate for Efficient Operation

Precision Boilers' Model CF boiler feed systems are designed to receive condensate, accommodate condensate surges, and, when condensate return is insufficient, automatically add make-up to maintain sufficient boiler or deaerator water supply. Standard receiver tanks are vented (non-code) and are constructed of high quality 1/4" thick carbon steel.

Make-up valves are either internal or external float-operated to maintain a minimum water level. Systems can be supplied with single or multiple pumps (with starters and controls), plus optional items such as alternators, alarm systems, auto standby provision, sparge-tube preheat system and makeup water spray valve.

BD Boiler Blowdown Tanks

Blowdown Tanks: Manage Temperature and Pressure

Boiler blowdown tanks are used to reduce the pressure and temperature of the blowdown from a boiler. IN most states, it is unlawful to discharge blowdown directly into the sewer system. They typically require boiler blowdown to be reduced to a temperature of 140° F at a maximum pressure of 5PSIG.

The pressurized design allows for heat recovery with the flash steam discharged to the deaerator, or low pressure steam header, and the effluent water passing through a heat exchanger, positioned upstream of the deaerator level control valve, to effect make up water tempering.

Blowdown from the boiler is received in the upper part of the blowdown tank. Because the tank is vented, or connected to a low pressure header, approximately 30% of the blowdown flashes into steam and flows out the vent. The saturated water that remains falls to the lower half of the tank and forces cold water from the bottom of the tank out the discharge.

BDS Blowdown Separators

Precision Boilers' blowdown separators are used to temper high pressure boiler water to an acceptable drain temperature. They are used where space constraints preclude the use of blowdown tanks.

The tangential inlet creates cyclonic action which allows rapid controlled pressure drop and the subsequent separation of liquid and sludge from flash steam. The steam escapes through the vent, which is sized to limit vessel pressure to 5 PSI, and the liquid/sludge mixture falls to the drain where it is either discharged directly or is further cooled via an optional Precision Boilers aftercooler to an acceptable discharge drain temperature, which is usually less than 140° F.

FT Flash Tanks

Boiler flash tanks are used in systems that require flashing of high pressure condensate to reduce its pressure and temperature before it is returned to the condensate receiver or discharged into the sewer. Flash tanks are provided with an inlet for condensate/steam, plus outlet, vent and drain connections.

PT/PF Bypass Chemical Feeders – Pot Style and Automatic

Bypass Feeders: Efficient Chemical Treatment

Precision Boilers' bypass feeders are the most convenient method of introducing treatment chemicals into a closed loop re-circulating water system. They're ready to use and come complete with valves.

Options include ASME construction, gauge glass with valves, a top vent opening, and angle legs.

Tank shell: Schedule 40
Tank Head: Carbon steel
Funnel: Tough polyethylene
Working Pressure: 200 psi
Valves: Four 1" ball-rated 200 psi.

An automatic system is also available in 50 and 100 gallons. The system includes a polyethylene tank with top cover and steel stand, a bottom-mounted pump (1/3hp/120-1-60/TENV), and an agitator (120-1-60/TEFC). It also comes with an optional dissolving basket (316SS).
