FTS 1, 2, & 3 (25 to 200 BHP)
Precision FTS Series Flex-Tube boilers utilize 1 ½ OD tubes (0.105 nom wall thickness) in a serpentine tube configuration designed to absorb thermal shock. The pressure vessel is warranted against thermal shock for 25 years. The FTS Series boilers also utilize a unique 5-pass tube design with upper headers located on the left or right side. The serpentine bends insure an even flow of gases through the heat transfer area of the boiler as well as equal water flow. An upper plenum plate diverts the flue gases to the burner end to facilitate flue gas recirculation. The boiler can be to full steaming capacity in 10 minutes. Access for maintenance is required on one side only. FTS 4, 5, & 6 (50 to 500 BHP)
The Precision FTS Series Flex-Tube boilers are encased in a stress-free sealed insulated casting. Pre-selected insulation is used to ensure low casting temperatures. Access to the furnace is through a manway either at the front (small units) or at the rear (large units) The furnace is fully water- cooled on all four sides and heat absorption does not exceed 60,000 BTU per cubic foot of furnace volume. The tube bends which are necessary to provide multiple gas passes provide flexibility against expansion and contraction of the boiler which is associated with sudden temperature and pressure changes in the vessel. The pressure vessel is warranted against thermal shock for 25 years. The boiler outer jacket is sheet steel finished with hard enamel paint.
All boilers, burner and controls are completely assembled and tested at our plant. The package is designed, built, inspected and tested in accordance with ASME Code and is registered with the National Board. A certified test report is available. Back to Top
FTH 1, 2, & 3 (25 to 200 BHP)
Precision Boilers FTH Series boilers are "Flex-Tube" forced draft noted for their small footprint and high fuel- to-output efficiency exceeding 82% to 85% for gas and 86% for oil. The FT series boilers utilize 1½" OD tubes (0.105" nom wall thickness) in a serpentine tube configuration designed to absorb thermal shock. The pressure vessel is warranted against thermal shock damage for a period of 25 years. The design accommodates up to 150F temperature differences from the supply and return and offers virtually instantaneous hot water.
The FTH Series are compact compared to other types of boilers; yet maintain approximately 5 square feet of heating surface per boiler horsepower. Access for maintenance is required on one side only and are available as right or left hand tube configuration, which for multiple boiler installations requires less floor space as the boilers can be set to utilize common access space. FTH 4, 5, 6 (50 BHP to 500 BHP)
The Precision FTH Series "Flex-Tube" boiler is a two drum system with multiple longitudinal pass separated by tangent water walls resulting in long turbulent gas travel without gas stratification. The furnace is fully water-cooled on all four sides and heat absorption does not exceed 60,000 BTU per cubic foot of furnace volume. Large downcomers are located outside the heat transfer zones to ensure positive natural circulation without relying on external circulation pumps. The boiler drums are independently supported by a structural steel frame to ensure that undue stress is not placed on the heat exchanger assembly.
Traditional Design, Untraditional Advantages
The Precision Model "FPS" Vertical Fire Tube Steam Boiler features the traditional Fire Tube design in the vertical configuration with an under-fired power burner. In addition to the simplicity of the 4-piece design, the Model "FPS" includes many advantages over other vertical configured boilers such as larger water volume and steam chest which reduce cycling and improve overall efficiency, easier sludge cleanout, standard "off-the-shelf" burners, and the proven Fire Tube reliability. An integral feedwater preheater eliminates "cold water shock" problems characteristic of some fixed tubesheet designs. Key Advantages
- Traditional, proven Fire Tube design
- Larger water volume
- Lower pressure drop through the unit
- Reduced cycling
- 84% efficiency
- Easier sludge cleanout
- Turbulators for maximum heat transfer
- High efficiency UL Listed Power Flame gas, light oil, or combination burners / Low Nox available with or without FGR
- Heavy duty / 16 gauge cabinet and flanged steel base provide greater structural strength.
- UL listing of complete assembly

Traditional Design, Untraditional Advantages
The Precision Model "FPH" Vertical Fire Tube Hot Water Boiler features the traditional Fire Tube design in the vertical configuration with an under-fired power burner. In addition to the simplicity of the 4-piece design, the Model "FPH" includes many advantages over other vertical configured boilers such as a larger water volume which results in both a low pressure drop thru the unit and reduced cycling, thus improving overall efficiency. The Model "FPH" also features standard "off-the-shelf" burners and the proven Fire Tube reliability. Key Advantages
- Traditional, proven Fire Tube design
- Larger water volume
- Lower pressure drop through the unit
- Reduced cycling
