Model SP Deaerator

Specification

Furnish and install as one Deaerating Heater as designed and manufactured by Precision Boilers.  Deaerator shall be model number ___________ and shall consist of the following:

(1)  Basic:  _____PPH Spray/Scrubber Type Deaerator with a capacity of _____ gallons to overflow (______ minutes of storage).  Storage vessel shall be ______ diameter by ______ shell length (not including heads) and shall be constructed in accordance with the ASME code (latest revision).  Deaerator shall include connections as follows:  water inlet ____, steam inlet______, pump suction ______, overflow________, relief valve and vacuum breaker (common)_______, vent ______, vessel drain ______, thermometer________, pressure gauge_______, 12” x 16” mainway (minimum) and all water level instrumentation equalizing connections required for operation (minimum of four).  Each pump suction shall be equipped with a vortex breaker which must be constructed as follows:  cross plate design of ¼” material and dimensionally two times greater than the nozzle diameter (minimum). Deaerator shall operate at all flows from 3% to 100% of rated outlet capacity and shall deaerated the water so that the oxygen in the effluent leaving the deaerator storage tank shall not exceed .005 cc/liter as determined by the Heat Exchange Institute method, Winkler method, or any other leading testing method approved by ASTM, and shall reduce the titratable free CO2 to zero as determined by the APHA testing method.  The Spray/Scrubber Deaerator shall have spray valves which shall have all stainless steel spray valves.  Deaerator shall have an internal direct contact vent condenser.  The final stage of deaeration will utilize a steam scrubber designed to assure the temperature of the water leaving the scrubber is equal to the temperature of the saturated steam at the pressure maintained in the unit (e.g.:  5 psig/227º F).
